23rd April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.
Every year, We celebrate it on the 23 rd of April.
It is a national day. This national day in Turkey is an unique event. The founder of Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, dedicated this special day to the children of the country to emphasize that they are the future of the new nation. Thus, for the first time in the world a national day has been dedicated to children. Schools participate in week – long ceremonies. Children show their appreciation and celebrate their speacial day with their own parades, dance, music performances. Among the activities on this day, the children send their representatives to replace state officials and high ranking bureaucrats in their officers. The President, The Cabinet Ministers, provincial governors all turno ver their positions to children’s representatives.
