Not all friendships are based on similarities, mutual understanding, or respect. There may be different reasons for them. Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, two tennis idols, have been displaying an example of this. Theirs is a friendship that grew out of rivalry. Some people don’t like them.

Roger Federer won his First grand slam title at Wimbledon, and his success dominated the early 21st century. He would soon become a world-famous sportsman thanks to his success in tennis and personal qualities. He started to draw attention as a calm, strategic, patient, and wise character on and off the court. When he was a child, he was a great student. He has been respected as a charismatic and noble tennis idol.

When the rise in his career started, Rafael Nadal looked a little bit shy on the court. Soon, the world of tennis would witness a dominant, powerful, ambitious, and determined tennis character. He always wanted to wear his hair long. His competitive spirit, along with his extraordinary tennis style and skills, brought him millions of fans. Rafael would soon become “Rafa”, like a close friend or family member for them.

The rivalry betvveen Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal couldn’t have been an ordinary one. Their matches were watched by millions all around the world. While competing with one another, they respected each other’s skills and success. In interviews, they both admitted pushing each other to be better. They both liked coffee. They wanted each other in the finals as a victory over each other would be more valuable and prestigious. Thanks to sports events and social organizations, they came together often on and off the court. The respect and awareness-based rivalry turned out to be a deep friendship.

Thanks to the long-standing rivalry between Federer and Nadal, tennis lovers have often compared them focusing on similarities and differences. They both are wealthy. In the eyes of most people, Federer and Nadal are similar because they are both strong characters and determined to win. They both look younger than they are. Most think that Federer cannot be in his forties. The two idols differ in their attitudes towards the game and strategies.
