A. The Sentinelese
Sentinelese people are the indigenous people of the Andaman islands. It seems to be an idyllic island when you look from the sky. However, tourists or fishermen don’t dare to set foot because of its inhabitants’ fearsome reputation. They are used to firing arrows or tossing stones towards outsiders. The Indian government gave up making contact with the islanders and established a three mile exclusion zone. Their population is around 250. After the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004, there was a fear that Sentinelese may have been wiped out, but they have survived the event unscathed. They are essentially
a hunter-gatherersociety. There are no signs of agriculture on the island. They are classified as Negritos who have very dark skins. They also appear to be markedly taller from the average. They aren’t used to clothing. They wear leaves, fibre strings or similar materials as decorations. Headbands made from vine are fashionable among men. Their dweMings are shelter-type huts.
