Hello! My name is Sonia. I’m from Cologne, Germany, and now I’m going to talk about school life in Germany. Students in Germany have to go to school every weekday. They usually have to be at their desks before 8:15 a.m. There are usually five or six lessons each day. School subjects are pretty similar to those you might have; Maths, Science, Music, Art, P.E, etc. There is normally a five to ten-minute break between each lesson. There are also two big breaks for 20 minutes. In long breaks, students usually go to the school garden. There aren’t lessons after lunch in German schools. Students join school clubs, homework workshops and various activities in the afternoon. Students get 15 weeks of holiday each year in Germany. The school holidays are quite similar to those in the UK and, of course, the long six-week summer holiday is always the one that everyone looks forward to the most!
