Most people in Galileo’s time believed that the Earth was the centre of the universe and that the Sun and planets revolved around it. Ali Kuşçu lived in İstanbul in the 15th century. He was one of the most important mathematicians and astronomers in Turkish history. He went to İstanbul and settled there on the invitation of Mehmet the Conqueror, He did important researches on the Moon and the stars. Mehmet the Conqueror said that he was the greatest scientist at that time. Alexander Fleming was a doctor and bacteriologist who discovered penicillin, receiving the Nobel Prize in 1945. Fleming noted that the vvounded soldiers during the World War I were dying due to lack of antiseptic. So, he pointed out that penicillin had clinical potential and it could help healing of vvounded soldiers.
