a. A Language With No Words
b. One Language, Too Many Personalities
c. Yes Language, No Communication
Today words are small parts of speeches in the world. No one denies the importance of them but by using non-verbal communication, we can express ourselves easily and effectively because it works without speaking a single word.
So, why does the non-verbal communication play such a crucial role in our world? The answer is very simple because it includes body language, gestures and facial expressions. Another key factor we cannot refuse is body language is the most powerful way to communicate with other people. Nevertheless, it varies in meaning across cultures. For example, in western cultures, direct eye contact indicates confidence, honesty and trust whereas in Asian cultures and South Africa, it is an act of rudeness and avoiding eye contact is a sign of respect to elders. Moreover in these cultures, children can’t look at an adult’s eyes directly. Subsequently, in some parts of East Asia, gesturing is a rude and boorish behaviour. On the other hand, in Northern Europe, America and Britain, there is very little physical contact in people’s daily interactions. For instance, they feel comfortable if people come to close to them. İn Thailand, it is a taboo to touch anyone’s head even children’s. However, in the Middle East, Latin America and South Europe, physical touch is common everywhere…
