Kitapta görseller ön plana çıkarılmış ve görsel tasarım ise Beyza DİRİK tarafından yapılmış.

“We can’t promise to cure, but we can promise to çare”; says Patch Adams and inspires film makers. The movie is about this dedicated doctor who never wanted to be a part of the system and had to create a new one. Then he set a medical value on laughter and compassion.
Hunter Patch Adams was born in 1945 in the USA. He was a funny kid and interested in jokes. He loved Science and mathematics. He was happy as a child. However, when his father died in the Korean War, the family moved to Virginia. Patch found himself in a social chaos of racism and war in the earlier 60’s. He felt so hopeless that he had to stay in a mental hospital for a while.
İn the hospital, he questioned his attitude to the world. Was there a way to hold on to life? Then he found the answer; to serve humanity through medicine to feel happy again.
After graduating from medical school, Patch Adams began the Gesundheight Institute with a group of twenty friends. They opened a six-bedroom house as a free hospital öpen 24 hours a day and seven days a week for ali medical problems. Dances, tricks, humour, gardening played a big role in their medical project.
They aimed to make health çare a more humane and fun interaction and to do something for the suffering millions across the globe. Thus many volunteers involved in their project to treat patients in need of medical çare, love and humour. They began their Global Outreach. The Global Outreach teams have been working with Patch not only to deliver medical aid but also to touch people for över 20 years. Patch says; “Wearing our ‘red badge of courage’, we export compassion and humour from the US, as well as medicine. Clowning is a trick to bring love close!”
