INDEPENDENCE OR DEATH
Atatürk believed in Science, art and critical thinking. He also believed in Turkish Nation. He never doubted the capabilities of the Turkish Nation. His nation should live in honour and dignity. Such a condition could only be possible with complete independence.
İn his Speech he declares; “No matter how wealthy and prosperous a nation may be, without its independence, it is nothing more than a slave in the eyes of the civilised world. To ask for the protectorate of a foreign power means you admit lacking of ali human qualities; and it means you admit weakness and incapacity. But our nation is dignified and proud; also capable and talented. Such a nation would prefer to die rather than live as a slave. Therefore, independence or death!”
