Atatürk is one of the world’s few historic fıgures. He is the immortal hero of the Turks. His image is everywhere and his influence is stili alive. His mausoleum is in Ankara. His name has also a special meaning. “Atatürk” means “the father of the Turks”.
He was bom in Salonika in 1881. He was very clever and very good at Maths in his childhood. He was a successfiıl soldier. The Turkish army was successfiıl in the Independence War because he was the chief commander. The Turkish Army’s enemies were the English, the French, the Italian and the Greek people in the Turkish Independence War. He was the founder of the Turkish Republic and he was also the first president of the Turkish Republic.
