Read the in the right order. The most popular love story of all times, written by William Shakespeare, sets in Verona. Romeo and Juliet came from Montague and Capulet families who hated each other for a long time. This hate caused tragic results for the world-famous lovers.
Romeo and Juliet fell for each other at a party. It was love at first sight but they were sure they would not be allowed to be together no matter how deep their love was. Therefore, they married secretly with the help of Friar Laurence. Unfortunately, at the wedding night Romeo killed Juliet’s cousin in a duel, and he was forced to leave the city and his dear love in the morning. If he ever returned to the city,
Capulets would kill him.
Juliet’s parents, who didn’t know she had already married, told her she had to marry Paris. She refused at the beginning. However, she agreed later because she planned a fake death to escape with Romeo; again helped by Friar Laurence. He gave Juliet a sleeping potion that made her seem dead and put her in a tomb. Being unaware of the plan, Romeo visited her grave, thought she was really dead, and killed himself.
When Juliet finally woke up, she discovered that Romeo was dead and killed herself, too.
